This was such a sweet & beautiful comic!! It reminds me of the locket I wear, which was given to a family friend by a man (we're not sure what exactly their relationship was, engaged or dating) in 1946 just before he went off to war. He didn't return, she never married, and now I wear the locket.

I really enjoyed this story. I especially liked the contrast when I then viewed the Downton Abbey comic! :-)
