FAST Stroke Detection (New Poster!)

Last month I got a request from the nice folks at St. Luke's in Houston, TX for permission to use the FAST Stroke detection comic for one of their events. I redrew the comic to be more suitable for a poster-type-situation and voila!

Now, apparently, it's in magnet form! Too cool, St. Luke's. Keep teachin' kids about how to spot strokes.

F.A.S.T. Stroke Detection

Heart attacks are noisy, vicious things, but strokes are sneaky. Memorize the National Stroke Association's detection method, FAST.  Also, familiarize yourself with the warning symptoms of stroke:

  • SUDDEN numbness or weakness of face, arm or leg - especially on one side of the body.
  • SUDDEN confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.
  • SUDDEN trouble seeing in one or both eyes.
  • SUDDEN trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.
  • SUDDEN severe headache with no known cause.

Dedicated to Patrice O'Neal, who passed away today after complications from a stroke.
